Van't Haaff, Saurashtra Surasena Silver Punchmarked Coinage, type 1.11. Some minor banker's marks, otherwise, very fine.

The Surasena Janapada was mentioned in the great Hindu epic, Ramayana. Ancient Greek writers also referred to this region as the kingdom of the Sourasenoi and named its capital Methora (Mathura).
